Hi there, my name is TJ Omojomolo. I am a dedicated tutor specialising in Economics, Mathematics, and Spanish, with over 2,000 hours of experience helping hundreds of students enhance their grades to secure places at top-tier universities.
I hold both a BSc in Economics and an MSc in International Finance and Economics from the University of Sheffield, where my academic performance earned me a merit scholarship. My advanced quantitative background includes specialised modules like Further Mathematical Methods for Economics, Micro/Macroeconomics, and Behavioural Economics. Additionally, I am an Investment Management Certificate (IMC) charterholder and conducted postgraduate dissertation research focusing on historical and implied volatility trends within the Nasdaq 100.
Whether you are looking to master complex economic theories, sharpen your math skills, or boost your Spanish, I am here to help you achieve your academic goals. Feel free to send me a message to get started!
With over 10 years of tutoring experience, I have helped numerous students exceed their target grades, often improving from a C or D to significantly higher results. As an example of the progress my students make, one recent student increased their exam score by more than 20% compared with their previous assessment.
I typically conduct focused one-hour classes designed to maximise retention without overwhelming the learner, though depending on this student’s schedule and availability this can be altered.
I often utilise the Feynman Technique, encouraging students to explain concepts back to me in their own words to truly cement their understanding. Additionally I use a scaffolded approach—starting with simple, familiar examples that students are likely to understand and then gradually increasing the difficulty. Once we find the stumbling block of their current knowledge, I work together with them to bridge the gaps and build lasting confidence.
To test their understanding, I ask students to design and solve their own questions. Moving from solving a problem to creating one proves they deeply understand the core concept and can think critically about the topic. Additionally, I use a progress chart that is sent to both students and parents after each session and encourage my clients to contact me out of hours if they have any questions or concerns.
If you have knowledge gaps, then we can schedule additional sessions to cover the topics that are tested in the exam you are taking.

TJ has been an excellent source of support and encouragement for my daughter. Her confidence in maths has increased significantly and after only a few weeks there are tangible results; she has added 20 percent to her recent maths exam in comparison to previous assessments this year. I am extremely happy with the lessons; the content is pitched perfectly and offers the right balance of challenge and support.
